BISKUT JEJARI OATS (Hellikonia) & BOMBAY BIRYANI
CINDERELLA... that's what http://munirahghazali.fotopages.com(Sis Muni) called me...hihii...makes me feel pretty, sweet and beautiful....laaa...dia dah perasan dah haaa...biarkannnn biarkan! But I guess I am the modernise version of Cinderella. Because this Cinderella doesn't have a step mother nor ugly sisters. My sister is beautiful! ...mama jack Mak Chu sikit aaa..... And what's more, this Cinderella has her own free time infront of the pc and also, she can just order Prince Charming to get takeaways! Hahaha.....And the best part is, I am only a Cinderella from Monday to Friday and weekends are my days off I guess...hihhii....good huh!

I was up by 3.15 am this morning. Had my sehri, just a simple egg banjo (fried egg on a burger bun) and a mug of tea. After that, said my Fajr prayers at 4 am, then went dating with Miss Iron again. Managed to iron quite a bit, alhamdulillah. Then around 5.30 am, went in the kitchen to prepare the breakfast and the breakboxes. Made cheese sandwiches for Fatin, polony sandwiches for Syahmi, beef burger for both the kids and finally, butter and sugar sandwich for hubby. Once all of them left the house, I started tidying up the house and sweeping as well. Thought of mopping straight away but then the body was saying no no no....So I took a nap...a good two hours nap!...kalau Cinderella betul ni, memang sah dah kena hambat dengan penyapu!!!.... Hahaha...When I woke up, straight away mopped the house and started cooking. Finished cooking just in time hubby came back for lunch. Cooked just a simple lunch of sambal ikan bilis, fried chicken wings and salad with plain rice. Well enjoyed by him, masyaAllah.

MamaFaMi to http://munirahghazali.fotopages.com(Sis Muni) and http://yt5486.fotopages.com(Hellikonia)...
Kita dah guna dah tau kebanyakan toys kita....buat sandwich tu, anak dara kita order, nak yang guna George Foreman punya gadget tu. Then mini fryer dah lanyak dah...Miss Iron, tok sah cakaplah... Periuk belanga pun dah guna dah...hehehe...So, moral of the story : Tak rugi wooo belikan mama mainan!

When hubby left, continued ironing till 4 pm. While ironing, I just feel like trying to cook the Biryani Rice using the Biryani powder I bought quite sometime back. So off to the kitchen I go! I made some raspberry jelly using the Halaal Jelly Powder I bought from Savers Choice. Then this Biryani Rice. When I was cooking it, I thought it won't taste nice, but I thought wrong! The aroma of the rice and the taste, is just like the Biryani Rice that we get from the restaurants..I'll just share the recipe with all of you but can't tell exactly where you can get this masala...So sorry....

BOMBAY BIRYANI
(Serves 6 - 8 persons)

Ingredients :

500 - 750 g beef/chicken/mutton ~ cut to small pieces (I used chicken)
3 - 4 cups Basmati Rice ~ washed and soaked for 30 minutes
5 medium onions ~ sliced finely
4 medium tomatoes ~ chopped
4 medium potatoes ~ peeled & halved
2 inches ginger ~ chopped
1 heap tablespoon garlic paste
200 g plain yogurt
1 - 1 1/2 cups ghee/oil
1 packet Shan Bombay Biryani Mix

Method :

1. Fry the onions in hot ghee/oil until golden. Add tomatoes and fry until the oil separates.
2. Add meat, garlic, ginger, potatoes, yogurt and Shan Bombay Biryani Mix. Fry for 15 minutes. Add 1 - 2 cups of water and cook on low heat until the meat is tender. Then increase heat and stir fry until the meat is tender. Then increase heat and stir fry until oil spearates from the gravy.
3. Separately : In 12 glasses of hot water, add 3 tablespoons of Shan Salt and the soaked rice. Boil until the rice is more than half cooked. Remove from heat and drain the water.
4. Spread the cooked meat and curry over the rice in two layers. Cover the pot and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked and tender. Mix before serving.

Serving suggestions :
Serve with fresh salad and raita.

Another recipe that I'd like to share with you is Jejari Oats. Got it from http://rossyabakes.fotopages.com(Sis Rossya's Fotopage) and according to her, the recipe was given to her by http://yt5486.fotopages.com(Hellikonia). Thank you to both of you sweet ladies for this simple but delicious cookie recipe. For those who care to try, here's the recipe...

BISKUT JEJARI OATS (Hellikonia)

Ingredients :

250 g oats
430 g flour
230 g castor sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
200 g Ghee
125 g butter (I used margarine)
milk powder ~ for coating

Method :

1. Mix oats, castor sugar, cocoa powder, ghee and butter.
2. Add in flour, little at a time till you get a soft dough. You don't have to use up the whole amount. Can't actually remember how much I used, but it's less than the amount stated above.
3. Take a bit of dough and shape it like a finger. I used a cutter, just to get a more uniformed size.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 C till done.
5. Leave the biscuites to cool then coat with milk powder.

Ceritamu, ceritaku...
1. mummy and daddy hamim2>> " totally avoid fatty foods" eh....hmmm.....we'll just wait and see.....
2. http://rossyabakes.fotopages.com(rossya)>> Kita jamu akak ke atau akak jamu kita? Ha ah, biskut ni rasa lemak. Fatin suka. Mula-mula masa nak buat tu, kita ingatkan nak kisar dulu oats tu, takutlah kot terasa kepingan oats tu...tapi bila dah masak, tak tergigit pun oats tu ye....Thanks kak sebab tolong promosi biskut ni...
3. aZeeMaH>> Kelakarla Azeemah ni...
4. Layman>> Eeee manalah popularnya...tak de la...cuma ramai kawan je...Page mama ni dah berusia 10 bulan dan hampir setiap hari (kalau mama tak pergi bercutilah) mama update. Tu yang dah banyak entries tu. Anyway, take your time ye and thanks for visiting. Appreciate it very much.
5. Mei mei_zurai@yahoo.com>> Hihii...then tak boleh panggil Cinderella la eh...kena panggil Siti Umbrella...hehehe....Ha ah, Shan ni ada pelbagai jenis. Tapi tu la, my hubby ni koreng sket makan benda-benda cenggini..So mama kalau masak, memang masak seciput je just for me to taste.
Mama yakin because it works for my family. Psst....jangan beritahu diorang 'rahsia' tiramisu Nic tu tau....hehehe...
7. Nabialishad>> Nasi biryani mama ni tak ada lauk. Makan gitu je sebab ayam dan kentang all in. Mama makan dengan salad dan sos Thousand Island..belasah je...kalau menu lari pun, hentam je, janji sedap! Tak ambil gambar yang lengkap sebab masa tu dah tak sabar nak ngap! Hang ni Nabia...kalau tak credit kaposhh...bateri dia yang kaposhhh...sabor je la....
8. Noor>> Memang sedap biskut tu Kak Noor. Tapi kita nak tanyalah, Kak Noor buat http://tiara64.fotopages.com(Jejari Koko) Kak Noor tu kan, guna acuan macam mana ye? Kita berkenan betul dengan shapenya...
9. Ida ida@medix.com.my>> Aik...diet sampai hujung minggu je eh, sebab nak pakai kebaya? Hihihi....sukahatilah Ida..asal bahagia!
10. anna>> Tu aar Anna. Jangan ingat dok Malawi tak merasa masakan Bombay...hahaha...sebab kalau kata nak makan nasi biryani Bombay kena pergi Bombay, gamaknya tak merasalah mama! Esh..tak laratlah nak bukak kedai makan...aka...MALAS...tapi duit nak...cam no tu?
11. Sabrina>> Ala Sab, tekak orang puasa, macam-macam naknya...Kalau tak puasa, malas pulak nak masak sebab mama sorang je yang makan. Semalam, tak berani sumbat kat Fatin sebab nasi tu ada pedas sikit. Sumbat sikit je kat mulut Syahmi sebab dia yang teman mama makan semalam. Tapi dia makan maggi kari. So tak naklah paksa dia makan nasi tu, takut nanti hilang pulak selera dia nak makan maggi.
12. mama awatif&adam>> Sebenarnya kan, mama sebelum ni tak reti guna perencah segera untuk masak nasi. Baru-baru ni je mama cuba. Not bad gak...Kena be more adventurous la lepas ni kot...
13. http://yt5486.fotopages.com(hellikonia)>> Kita ikut je seperti mana yang Kak Rossya tepek. Tak pandailah nak ubah sana sini...Nak tepek apanya hasil toys tu...takat buat sandwich je...kalau kata deep fryer tu, dah tepek dah gambar hasilnya...ex. kuih siput nabia dan fries.
14. Kak Leen>> Sedap dan mudah dibuat Leen...cubalah...
15. mummy jam>> Patutlah cantik-cantik design inai tu ye mummy....suka kita tengok..Hari tu, masa gi Dubai, that lady buatkan kita secoet je...tu yang tengok gang gang mummy buat penuh satu tangan, gerammm je....
16. dolly>> Which part can I suit to be a Cinderella? The messy look or what...hehehe...
17. rozzan>> Since you've mentioned the asam boi, barulah mama perasan memang ada asam boi dalam tu eh? I didn't remove anything sebab to me, it's ok. Tak tahulah kalau rempah yang lain...Janganlah 'macam nak' je...cubalah...very simple to do...
18. Datin Siti Nurhaliza>> :-D
19. KNizam>> Eee tak tahulah mama samada di jemur ke dak...mama beli yang dah siap pack dalam kotak...senang citer...
20. pakcik>> Namaste pakcik...Kei se he? :-D
21. muni>> Pakai glass slipper? Mau hancur berderai slippers tu kalau mama pakai sebab berat tak tertanggung dek glass yang fragile tuh! Hehe...Oh, that Shan Biryani mix boleh dapat kat Malaysia eh? So tak rugilah mama tepek the recipe kat sini ye.
22. Mademoiselle Ayu>> Luckily it's just your eyes, if your tummy, susah gak nak anto..jauh ni!
23. Dayu's Design bridalhenna@gmail.com>> Oh ala shiannya...nanti mama bagi tissue ye....Henna? Teringat masa gi Dubai dulu....:-D
24. jihah jdz.262@gmail.com>> Like I've mentioned in my entry, I am so sorry because I don't really know where you can get Shan's Briyani Mix in Malaysia. Mama belum ler pulak pi survey...maaf ye....
25. loveliana loveliana23@yahoo.com.my>> Terima kasih Ayu kerana sudi bertandang ke rumah mama...terharunya, pakar deco cake sudi ke mari....Esh, mama tak boleh buat buku resipi la Ayu sebabnya, resipi dalam fp mama ni, 95% resipi orang lain yang mama cuba. Mama tak pandailah nak cipta resipi sendiri...
26. aly alydzakir@yahoo.com>> Alhamdulillah....
27. Rosman rosmanms@gmail.com>> Waalaikumussalam....Cinderella? Ahaks...so cute! Hai bertuahlah your family dapat hubby yang so sweet like you. Siap nak buat surprise lagi! Anyway, biasanya kalau masak nasi guna basmathi rice, normally ianya memang berderai. Tapi mama kalau masak nasi apa pun dan nak lessen the kerak as much as possible, I'd boil the rice till half cooked, then baru ma tuang bahan tumisan. Meaning, tumis the briyani seperately, then tuang masuk dalam nasi yang separuh masak tu. Tutup periuk dan biar nasi masak macam biasa. I am yet to update the other version of briyani rice, tapi ntah bilalah tu agaknya...
28. pulutpanggang purplepetals7@gmail.com>> Minta maaf banyak-banyak, mama tak ingat dah berapa keping boleh dapat, tapi rasanya banyak juga. Cubalah buat separuh adunan dulu ye....
